OAKLAND, Calif. – The Golden State Warriors have assigned forward Kevon Looney to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League, the team announced today. Looney will be in uniform, along with Golden State rookie center Damian Jones, for tonight’s home game against the Texas Legends, which tips off at 7:00 p.m. (PDT) at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
This marks the second D-League assignment of the season for Looney, who registered 18 points and a Santa Cruz season-high 20 rebounds in 23 minutes for Santa Cruz against Salt Lake City on January 13. In 49 games (four starts) with Golden State this season, the 6’9”, 220-pound forward is averaging 2.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 8.8 minutes per contest.
